FVL.18.Notes
Raba ji nu hirti la Fred, hue Dai {/gu}, nu driki Fai.
Before a predicate word, a hue phrase must be terminated with gu
No tio srisu, hue le kicmu, I tu fa kukra jelcea tio, {noanoi/icanoi no}dzoru.
The not walking condition is a separate part of a compound sentence and must be introduced with an eeshek, otherwise the parser breaks up noanoi to noa and noi and ceases to make sense.
Nia ne likta mi stolo le hasfa je la Djan, e tuaflo lepo stude la Loglan {/guo}, e fekduvrai le durfoa je lepo la Fred ji vi ze la Fred ji vi le sesytursia ga sanbatmi guo, e madzo lo papre flemai lui la Pal ze la Pitr {ji sunho la Djan {jue/ze}la Meris/. I la Pal ze la Pitr bi le sunho je la Djan ze La Meris}
Firstly guo is needed so that the rest beginning with e fekduvrai does not become part of the lepo clause. Secondly, ji and jue do not go together, and anyway, sunho and similar family relations lump father and mother together as parents. B is the son of parents S. Hence ze.
Thirdly, with the present LIP, I could not find a way to avoid the ji clause applying only to Pitr instead of to both. Hence to render the meaning, I identified Pal and Pitr in a separate sentence
I mi papa vizka Hai le frase telvi, kie Hai rornurfundi ba lo frasi sui, e spuro ge frasa takna kiu.
This sentence does not parse, like an earlier one with kie kiu and a compound sentence, even though it parses with li...lu, and the YACC statements are li utterance lu and kie utterance kiu respectively. This is inexplicable without careful study which has been deferred until these chapters are analysed. I will assume the sentence is correct as written.
La Djan {/ga}krido lepo la Fred {/ga}tsufi saadja lera grimui je la Casleun {/guo}, ice miu gudyduo io Fai{,}nepo vizgoi la Hirtei Kuvla.
Aside from the usual absences, the comma after Fai is (currently) necessary to prevent it from becoming Faine po vizgoi
Le {stisei/tirsei}ga sloslo ce langa, ice ra miu kukrue lepo gangoi.
A misprint for staircase.
Miu setfa le fu pacdou le troku, e skicea nia ri minta, {epa/efa}nengoi le kuvla
I{/,}vihu fei?
Or it becomes Ivi hu fei?
Mi raeble, ibuo le kuvla {/ga}draka, ice le troku ga karkyflo, inukou le fungi ga no nu vizka io.
I la BeibiDjein, ze leu fremi je la Djan gue, {/ga}skitu va, e norjiotaa.
The second ga is not essential, but recommended.
Hoi Aleks, hue Dai, la Fred {/ga}danza lepo {Fai/}djadou tu ba ji djipo.
The Fai is not incorrect, but unncecessary, and I am sure JCB would have wanted it removed.
